General Questions
Web hosting is a service that allows you to publish your website on the internet. When you sign up for a hosting plan with Taifa Cloud, we store your website's files on our high-performance servers and serve them to your visitors when they type your domain name into their browser. Think of it as renting space on the internet to make your website accessible 24/7.
Yes! We fully support M-Pesa payments via STK Push and Buy Goods Till number. You can pay for hosting, domains, SSL certificates, and any other Taifa Cloud service directly from your phone. Payments are processed instantly and your services are activated immediately. All prices are in KES — no hidden forex fees or international transaction charges.
Absolutely. You can upgrade your hosting plan at any time from your dashboard. Upgrades are prorated — you only pay the difference between your current plan and the new plan for the remainder of your billing cycle. The upgrade process is instant with zero downtime. Moving from shared hosting to VPS or from VPS to a higher-tier plan is seamless, and our support team can assist with the migration.
Technical Questions
Your CyberPanel control panel can be accessed at https://yourdomain.com:8090 or via the direct IP address provided in your welcome email. Use the username and password sent to your registered email upon account activation. From CyberPanel, you can manage your websites, databases, email accounts, FTP users, SSL certificates, and more. Need help? Our support team can walk you through the first login.
To point your domain to Taifa Cloud, you need to update your domain's nameservers (DNS) to the ones provided in your welcome email. Log in to your domain registrar's control panel (where you bought the domain), find the DNS or Nameserver settings, and replace the existing nameservers with ours. DNS changes typically propagate within 1-24 hours. If you registered your domain through Taifa Cloud, the nameservers are configured automatically — no action needed.
We support PHP 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, and 8.4 on all our hosting plans. You can select or change the PHP version for each website directly from CyberPanel with just a few clicks. Our LiteSpeed servers with LSAPI ensure optimal PHP performance regardless of the version you choose. We also support popular PHP extensions including MySQLi, PDO, cURL, GD, Imagick, IonCube, Zend Optimizer, and more.
Billing & Payments
We accept M-Pesa (STK Push and Buy Goods Till), Visa and Mastercard credit/debit cards, and bank transfers for annual plans. M-Pesa is our most popular payment method among Kenyan customers. Card payments are processed securely through our PCI-compliant payment gateway. All transactions are in KES, so you never have to worry about exchange rates or international bank fees.
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all shared and reseller hosting plans. If you're not satisfied within the first 14 days, we'll refund your payment in full (excluding domain registration fees and add-ons, which are non-refundable per ICANN/KeNIC policy). VPS plans have a 7-day money-back guarantee. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days and returned via the original payment method — M-Pesa refunds go back to your M-Pesa account, card refunds to your card.
Invoices are due upon receipt. We provide a 3-day grace period for monthly hosting plans. If payment is not received within the grace period, your services will be suspended. A reactivation fee of Ksh 500 applies. Accounts that remain unpaid for more than 30 days may be terminated and data permanently deleted. To avoid interruption, we recommend setting up auto-renewal via M-Pesa or card, or opting for annual billing which offers a discount and less frequent payments.
